Trick or Treat???

Hey Kiddds!

Yesterday on the 28th October 2011, a small group of us celebrated Halloween at our beloved friends house at Rupert Street. To be a part of the Halloween occasion, we dressed up and painted our faces to make our own versions of a scary character; it all really created the spooky halloween mood and many of us looked very different from out usual self!

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Sparks In The Parks!

Hey everybod-ay!!

I would just like to let you all know that the tickets for SPARKS IN THE PARKS is now available at the UEA BOX OFFICE. It is on the 5TH NOVEMBER and will be 6 pounds if you buy it in advance and 7.50 pounds in you buy it on the spot. But to make sure everything goes fineee, I would suggest you buy the tickets early =) The link below will give you more information about the prices.
BUT, please note if you buy in the box office, you DO NOT have to pay the booking fee of 1 pound *so think about that*.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT:

"Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...
"

If you have watched V for Vendetta then you would know what this is about. To those that haven't YOU SHOULD, it's a great movie!

It's a day when people commemorate not only the survival of the King but also what Guy Fawkes did on the 5th November 1605. Guy Fawkes plotted against the government and was found in a cellars of the House Of Parliament with several dozens of gunpowder, attempting to blow it up. This day is commemorated each year with bonfires and fireworks, as well as burning the "Guy Fawkes" that they have made. People made the Guy Fawkes by filling clothes with stuffing (e.g. newspaper, hay etc...)

In this event, there will be RIDES, alot of GAMES and FOOD so make sure to bring some CASH on you otherwise you'll miss out on a lot! =)

It is a great Traditional British experience so don't miss out!!!

UEA BRUNEI

2011/2012 HERE WE COME!!! HAVE AN AWESOME ONE EVERYONE!!!

Ka Win's PINK House Warming Gathering!

Ladies and Gents,

Today we celebrated our dear friend's migration from a room at Travel Lodge to a comfortable, homey house at St. Philips Road. Our host, Ka Win, cooked a variety of delicious dishes which made me feel as if I was back in our homeland. Let me tell you more in DEATAIL!!! First of all, we have the vegetable, more healthy, dish. It was a classic combination of fresh broccoli's and cauliflowers, slices of stunning red capsicums, juicy carrots and the sinful crab sticks, fried in an asian favorite: the oyster sauce.
Moving on we have the sliced boiled eggs topped with baked beans. HOWEVER, the baked beans were cooked with fried onions which turned a normal canned bean to a savory dish.
Finally, we have the two meaty-licious dishes! I was thinking best for last, but couldn't decide and the pictures below will show you why! First of all we have the curry beef and in it was potatoes that was cooked perfectly with some juicy slices beef...then ofcourse we have the curry sauce which had hints of sweetness and it spices and, best of all, spicy (as all curry should be :)) that it made most of us *sniffle*, ofcourse i'm saying that it was the "SOOOO GGGOOODDDD" kind of spicy-sniffles. Last, but not least, we have the chicken. Now people, I can't exactly tell you how this was made because the Chef-tress said it was a "if i tell you i'd have to kill you" kind of dish. BUT EITHER WAY, she served it, we ate it, and let me tell you, it blew our minds! it was crispy, zangy, tangy, savory, and many more words but to sum it up to one word, it was delicious!!!
OK, enough about the food. I would now like to resolve your curiosity regarding the PINK matter. In short, Ka Win's adorable daughter loves the color pink, therefore, she is trying to infest her whole house with the color before her daughter comes to visit :) Below are a few pictures to show you how the kitchen is doing so far.
Before we left, we took a group photo in her living room. We left as very very VERY happy people and, I need not say, full...
